Exactly what I was thinking about. We need to involve everybody in this thing. A lot of people won't have the same views, or even believe in peak oil and climate change but we want them on board.
How do we reach the people who don't or wouldn't ordinarily come to a Transition Town meeting?
Including the economy as the third TT challenge is a start...
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I attended a Transition Training in Cambridge in November '08.
We started Transition Town Brunswick in January '09. I recently received my second Permaculture Design certificate and plan to use what I've been learning.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
The Transition movement gives me hope. It is a positive, creative, community response to the very urgent problems of Peak Oil, Climate Change, and economic uncertainty.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
gardening/farming, permaculture design, keyline design, systems design, activism, public speaking, dissemination of information
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I am spreading the word as fast as I can. Modeling one's beliefs seems to be one of the best ways to convince people, setting an example. The frustration is that there is a time factor involved.
